| Show Description: |
|
11 ladies and 17 gentlemen comprise the 28 members of the
2002 Pride of Cincinnati.
The "look" of the show will be one of warmth and beauty.
The floor will be composed of extremely subtle yet warm shades of
neutral, tan, and beige hues allowing the pure white costumes to
provide a haunting and beautiful sense of floating across the floor.
Each costume will be individualized to allow that particular performer
to express his or her own personality within the context of the
program.
The only props used will be 14 benches. Artistically crafted to
blend into the floor, these allow a sense of dimensionality, unique
staging parameters, and an overall atmosphere of thoughtful introspection.
This show is about life, and as such it is important that each performer
feel free to bring his or her own experiences to the floor. The
mission of the guard is to maintain the high quality equipment,
movement and staging that has come to be expected of Pride, while
at the same time sharing in an exchange of emotion with the audience.
The experience of the spectators always has been and always will
be the single most important element for the duration of the season.
Enjoy Joni Mitchell's "Both Sides Now",
brought to you by the 2002 Pride of Cincinnati.

| Lyrics to "Both
Sides Now" |
Rows and flows of angel hair
And ice cream castles in the air
And feather canyons everywhere
I've looked at clouds that way
But now they only block the sun
They rain and they snow on everyone
So many things I would have done
But clouds got in the way
I've looked at clouds from both sides now
From up and down, and still somehow
It's cloud illusions I recall
I really don't know clouds at all.
Moons and Junes and Ferris wheels
The dizzy dancing way that you feel
As every fairy tale comes real
I've looked at love that way
But now it's just another show
And you leave 'em laughing when you go
And if you care, don't let them know
Don't give yourself away
I've looked at love from both sides now
From give and take, and still somehow
It's love's illusions that I recall
I really don't know love
Really don't know love at all
Tears and fears and feeling proud
To say "I love you" right out loud
Dreams and schemes and circus crowds
I've looked at life that way
Oh but now old friends they're acting strange
And they shake their heads
and they tell me that I've changed
Well something's lost but something's gained
In living every day
I've looked at life from both sides now
From win and lose and still somehow
It's life's illusions I recall
I really don't know life
I really don't know life at all
