4/6/02--Tri State Circuit finals: BEST PERFORMANCE YET!!! On Saturday night, the Pride of Cincinnati performed close to home with their best run to date at Ryle HS which hosted the Tri State Circuit Championships. Exactly one week before WGI finals, and the guard shows no sign of slowing down. Continuing to refine and enhance, the members are bringing "Both Sides Now" to life with a passion that is worthy of a WGI week performance.A score of 97.4 starts the WGI week. Come support the Pride of Cincinnati in the prelims contest on Friday, April 12, 2002 at 4:20pm. The contest is being held at the University of Dayton Arena. The finals contest will be held the following evening. See you there! 3/24/02--Nutter Center debuts as new home for the WGI Mideast regional... The Pride of Cincinnati and Miamisburg HS played co-hosts of the color guard portion of the WGI Mideast regional over the weekend. A record setting percussion regional was hosted down the road at Centerville HS. What a wonderful opportunity for all of these units to view their programs in an arena type setting only a few weeks before the World Championships at the UD Arena in Dayton, OH. Not only did it give the performing members the opportunity to showcase their talents in a huge venue, but it gave audiences and judges a preview of what all the color guards would look like in a few weeks. Pride came out of the weekend as the Independent World Champions, with a final score of 94.8.
3/12/02--Vegas trip yields life memories as well as colorguard experience... Wow, wow, wow! What more can be said about such an incredible weekend? Director Charles Gumbert and the Pride organization created an experience for everyone that would last a lifetime. As far as the colorguard portion of the weekend went, the Pride of Cincinnati was warmly received by the hosts of the event, as well as spectators. Many people said it was refreshing to see groups from the Midwest/east out there for a regional, and asked if we would consider coming back next year (ok...twist our arm!). Prelims brought a good performance. Many Pride members felt it was very emotional, but yielded more individual mistakes than normal. Finals was much better and allowed them to leave the weekend with a score of 92.3 before penalties, and the knowledge that the audience saw their best effort. Fantasia won the regional with their exciting performance, and a score of 94.5. Congratulations to them! The Pride of Cincinnati would like to give a special thank you to the members of Fantasia for their kindness in welcoming us to the regional, as well as helping with the floor! A highlight of the weekend for everyone would have to be Friday night's trip to the Rio World Buffet followed by going to see Cirque du Soleil's performance of "O". It was unbelievable! Definitely a trip to remember!
3/4/02--Centerville Show brings highest score to date! This weekend, the guard performed for a local audience at Centerville HS. Click HERE for a full recap. It was nice to be "home" for a weekend even though the guard had a great time in Nashville. Due to scheduling conflicts with the guard's usual facilities, Centerville HS and Springboro HS were kind enough to provide rehearsal time. After a couple of intense rehearsals and even more enhancements to the show, everyone is excited to take it on the road once more: This time to Las Vegas!!! Stay tuned! 2/24/02--2002 WGI Nashville Regional Independent World Class Champions! After a weekend of intense rehearsals and major enhancements, the Pride of Cincinnati took their show to Nashville, TN for the Mid-south regional. For scores and recaps, click here. In addition to two wonderful performances on Saturday, they managed to squeak in some time for Kareoke on Saturday night. Breaking the record for the most people to simultaneously perform a song there, all 28 members of Pride sang their version of "The Greatest Love of All". Those who stuck around later were serenaded by a certain staff member who shall remain nameless! Sunday brought a short rehearsal day for more enhancements before the long trip home. All in all, a weekend to remember!
2/10/02--2002 WGI Indianapolis Regional Independent World Class Champions! The Pride of Cincinnati completed it's first regional weekend in Indianapolis with successful performances in both prelims and finals. The performers did a great job in prelims, and then stepped it up a notch in finals to deliver a truly emotional performance. Many people commented on how different this program was from the 2001 program, and yet if anything, was even more emotional! The performers captured the hearts of the audience and judges alike from beginning to end. The guard finished the weekend with an 85.2--their highest score to date. For all the scores, go to our SCORES page. We would like to thank all the people who helped us on and off the floor for our past several shows. Click HERE for a personal thank you from our director! The next chance to catch this program will be in two weeks at the WGI Regional in Nashville, TN. See you there!

The Board, Staff, and Members of the Pride of Cincinnati 2002 ended last weekend with a sense of excitement about the season to come! After performing over half of their show for the audience at Campbell County High School in Alexandria, KY, there was no doubt in anyone's minds that this will be a season to remember. Whether it was their first performance with Pride, or their first performance after a 4 year hiatus, the members all came off of the floor feeling the passion of a show well done. The audience at the Tri State Circuit exhibition was extremely receptive to all of the color guards who performed at this early date. Pride would like to extend it's best wishes to all of the units for a wonderful 2002 season! Please join us next weekend at the Tri State Circuit show being held at Indian Hill High School on Saturday, and the MEPA show being held at Miamisburg High School on Sunday.
