Pride of Cincinnati Diaries 2008

Ryle HS Competition Weekend

Everyone came to rehearsal on Friday refreshed from our weekend off – there was a snow emergency and about 14 inches of snow in Cincinnati, so we had our first “snow day”.  I know those of us who went to the IHSCGA State Prelims show were inspired by some great performances and ready to work on our own show again.  After getting back into gear with a quick dance class and a sermon to cheer each other on, we went straight to work on making the opening silence more interesting with a few new parts from Johnny and Jim.  We worked on a few other small changes and then did our first run through since finals at the Dayton regional.  As is Friday night tradition at the Middletown Armory, we went Krogering and to Fricker’s for food, fun, and balloons???

It's Dayton already?? Whoa the season is flying by!! Friday night started out like usual. Dance class, warm-ups, chunk after chunk after chunk, run-through. We were on our own for a place to sleep since we were at the sports center.

Friday started out like most normal Fridays do. Jeff and I taught New Palestine’s guard class then headed home to get ready for our big Dayton Regional weekend! Erin had spent all week at my house after her first weekend with the POC. She was filling a hole and I was SO excited to be performing with her again!

The trip started with an interesting series of events. Go figure. It wouldn’t be a Pride trip without snafu! The bus planned on picking up the Cincinnati crew around noon and then picking up the Indianapolis crew around 2. Well, the bus left Cincinnati late because Brian locked his keys in his car. I still love you Bri! So, while that was happening in Cinci, we were having our own drama in Indy.
