Pride of Cincinnati Diaries 2008

WGI Dayton Regional
February 29- March 2, 2008

        It's Dayton already?? Whoa the season is flying by!! Friday night started out like usual. Dance class, warm-ups, chunk after chunk after chunk, run-through. We were on our own for a place to sleep since we were at the sports center.

Saturday morning came way to early! After a couple blocks of practice it was time to get dressed. 1 shower for the girls and 4 for the guys. What!!! It worked out fine though. The only thing we had to fight over were the plug-ins that were being used by girls with curling irons!!! (ha-ha..Squuiirrrrrt!!!) But we were show ready by the time we got off the bus at the Trent Arena. (PS next time don't let Erin put eyeliner on her lips.) We got to the show just in time for a break (of course!) and had a few minutes to look around before POC body, which ended up being in a tiny hot hallway!! Transit, wait, equipment warm up, transit, wait some more, show time!! It was our first time performing the new silent sections. I think they enjoyed it. Either way it was so much fun to perform! The staff was a little teary-eyed after the show (hopefully for good reasons!). Back on the bus and back to the sports center. (Luckily someone finally came and let us in!) We slept in the sports center that night - so convenient!!

Early morning again on Sunday! One short block, then we traded run-though performances with Zydeco winter guard (so awesome!). We had plenty of time to get ready, but somehow Sam, Whitney, and I were still late to makeup (sorry Toni and Melissa!!). We drove ourselves to the show this time, so no Klug bus :( Once we were all there we were ready for POC body. Transit, warm-up, etc, etc, and another great show! Afterwards we all headed to O'Charley's (hopefully Chris didn't SLEEP though dinner!) But what a great weekend!! Squuuuirrrrt!!!!
