Dayton Regional

Christine Porto and Daniel Holland

So we showed up Friday night ready for the big regional. We were at the Lebanon Armory this week, which is normally bad news because it is so small but as a colorguard we have grown somewhat accustomed to it as we have become quite good friends with the army man Sam. He is always good for a laugh and his army pals are pretty nice too. We had dance class and refined some transitions that have been problematic and wrapped it up with a run through. After rehearsal a group of us headed for a late night snack at the Applebees in Middletown. (We just can't stay away.) After eating we headed back to the armory to go to bed because of course we had to get up early (this is the POC). Goodnight POC!!!

Saturday Morning (It's a show day!!, Thanks Kim). Rehearsal consisted of 7 full hours of getting better. Thank you for making us clean. Upon getting ready for the show we realized that somebody misplaced the barrier spray. So what else are we supposed to do but freak out. We packed it up onto the big yellow school bus (as to avoid any car accidents) and headed to Kettering as the team that we are. We did a show, it was cool but we knew we could do better. We headed back to the armory to catch some ZZZ's for the big finals show on Sunday.

Sunday Morning (Another show day!!, Thanks again Kim). Rehearsal was efficient and fun. Getting ready for the show was quite an experience again because with only one shower room and 30 members it gets a little bit crowded!! We headed off to the show, this time in our own cars. After performing our finals show we headed off to retreat and met some cool girls from Blessed Sac. Then it was off to find our stuff which was quite a process because every hallway looks the same there at the Kettering Fairmont High School. Christine packed up the car and drove the extra special 8 hour drive back to HOTLANTA! and Daniel just went home. All in all it was a fun weekend with a couple of special performances!!

Love Always,

Christine and Daniel
