Toni Twaddell first began her experience in the pageantry arts
at the age of nine, first marching in the Golden Knights out of Southgate,
Kentucky and then "aging-out" as a member of the Pride of
Cincinnati Drum and Bugle Corps. (How many people remember those bright
yellow tuxedoes?) Although performing as a percussionist, Twaddell began
her instructional career as a movement tech., teaching the Pride Drum
Corps during its remaining years.
Winter Guard became Twaddells first love as a staff member of
the very first Pride of Cincinnati Winter Guard. Since then she has
continued teaching groups such as the Glassmen Drum and Bugle Corps,
as well as a variety of marching bands and winter guards in Kentucky,
Ohio, Indiana, Georgia and Mississippi.
Today, Twaddell teaches Arts and Humanities at Gray Middle School in
Northern Kentucky, while teaching art classes at a local college in
the evenings. In addition to her duties as a Pride board member, Twaddell
continues to teach movement technique on the high school level and does
freelance artwork within the pageantry arts, designing and creating
specialized costumes, flags, props and floors.
